Intro to Ceramics Throwing and Hand Building-

2 and a half hour class with a maximum of 8 people.
​Using stoneware clay you will learn the main handbuilding techniques of pinching coiling and slabbing. You will also learn to wedge, centre and throw on the wheel, you will be given instruction on how to work the clay carefully to avoid cracks during the firings, there will be options for glazing. Includes materials and firings.

At Earthworks you will learn new ceramic techniques perfect for beginners and those with some clay making experience who want to get back into it.
​
​You will be shown how to add different textures if you so chose or how to create a smoothed finish.
You will glaze pieces with your choice of glaze and they’ll be ready after a few weeks to pick up.

​Please arrive promptly. Finished pieces must be picked up from Earthworks studio within 3 months of the class. Aprons are provided. Please make sure you can make the dates chosen as we are unable to process refunds or transfers on tickets. All children under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
