Morning Ceramics Courses

Wednesdays AM – Level 1: Intro to Ceramics
10:30 AM – 1:00 PM
6 or 12 Weeks (Handbuilding Focus)
Break weeks: 19th of Feb

Level 1 is ideal for beginners or anyone wanting a strong foundation in clay. You’ll learn essential handbuilding techniques — pinching, coiling, slab building — plus a gentle introduction to the wheel. Expect to create simple functional or sculptural pieces while developing core skills, confidence, and an understanding of the ceramics process. If you’ve already taken one of our throwing tasters and loved it, these sessions are the perfect next step. They’re a great way to build confidence, practise your technique, and get comfortable on the wheel and in the studio.

Fridays AM – Level 2: Improvers Ceramics
10:30 AM – 1:00 PM
6 or 12 Weeks (Throwing Focus)
Break week: 19th of Feb

Level 2 is designed for those with some prior experience who want to progress further. With a focus on throwing, you’ll refine technique, explore more complex forms, and work on personal projects with supportive, tailored guidance. Perfect for building consistency and moving beyond the basics.

  • Great gift for beginners, or clay enthusiasts who want to brush up on their skills!

  • Level 2 is designed for makers who already feel comfortable with the basics and are ready to take things further. This course focuses heavily on improving your throwing technique, refining your centring, pulling, shaping, and consistency,  while also introducing more advanced challenges like throwing larger amounts of clay, making sets, exploring lids, spouts, and handles, or developing more complex handbuilt elements to combine with thrown forms.

You’ll work with more independence while still receiving tailored, one-to-one support to help you progress. Whether you want to improve form and finesse, explore new shapes, deepen your understanding of clay, or build towards a personal project, Level 2 gives you the space, structure, and guidance to meaningfully level up your practice.
