Intensives

Introduction:

What You’ll Explore

  • Centring & Control: Learn how to work with the clay (not against it) and find your balance at the wheel.

  • Basic Forms: Master the building blocks of throwing: cylinders, bowls, and simple vessels.

  • Throwing Rhythm: Develop a feel for the process, from preparing clay to lifting walls with steady hands.

  • Refinement: Introduction to trimming, smoothing, and shaping your pieces for strength and elegance.

  • Selective Keeping: Learn to identify your best results, building discernment as you grow your skills.

With hands-on guidance, individual feedback, and daily demos, you’ll quickly build confidence and enjoy seeing your progress stack up on the shelf beside you. By the end, you’ll have a small collection of thrown forms ready for firing, and the knowledge to keep developing your practice.
